Usage Rules
Last updated July 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the standards we expect from everyone using Umail, to protect the platform's security and deliverability for all customers.
1. Purpose and Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") describes the conduct and content that are prohibited when using Umail. It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service and applies to every account, mailbox, and domain connected to the Service, whether personal or business, and to anyone who accesses the Service on an account holder's behalf. Violating this Policy is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in the actions described in Section 11 (Enforcement).
2. Spam and Unsolicited Bulk Email
You may not use Umail to send unsolicited bulk email, or email to any recipient who has not given verifiable consent to receive it. This includes purchased or scraped mailing lists, and lists obtained through a third party without documented opt-in. An account that generates a disproportionate volume of spam complaints or bounces may be suspended to protect the deliverability of the Service for other customers.
3. Malware, Phishing, and Fraud
You may not use the Service to distribute malware, ransomware, or other malicious code, or to send phishing messages, fraudulent solicitations, or content designed to deceive a recipient into disclosing sensitive information or making a payment under false pretenses. An account found engaging in these activities will be suspended immediately, without prior notice.
4. Security and Abuse of Shared Infrastructure
You may not attempt to circumvent rate limits, storage quotas, or other technical controls; probe, scan, or test the security of the Service outside of a disclosed responsible-disclosure process; or use the Service in a manner that degrades its performance or availability for other customers.
5. Illegal Content and Activity
You may not use the Service to store, send, or receive content that is illegal under the laws applicable to you or to Unet, including without limitation content that infringes a third party's intellectual property rights, violates export control or economic sanctions laws, or facilitates the sale of illegal goods or services.
6. Intellectual Property Infringement
You may not use the Service to infringe any copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right. Unet will respond to properly submitted notices of alleged infringement and may remove content or suspend an account in response to a valid claim.
7. Impersonation and Misrepresentation
You may not use the Service to impersonate any person or entity, misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity, or forge message headers in a manner intended to disguise the origin of a message, except where explicitly permitted by a legitimate mail-relay configuration you are authorized to operate.
8. Custom Domains
If you connect a custom domain to Umail, you are solely responsible for that domain's DNS configuration, including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records, and for the legality and compliance of all mail sent or received through it. Unet may suspend mail delivery for a domain that is misconfigured in a way that threatens the deliverability or reputation of the Service.
9. Fair Use of Resources
Storage, sending, and other quotas are described on your plan's details page. Automated or excessive use of shared resources beyond what is reasonable for normal account activity, including bulk data extraction or scraping, may be restricted or throttled.
10. Reporting Violations
To report suspected spam, phishing, or other abuse originating from a Umail account, contact [email protected] with as much detail as possible, including original message headers where available. We review all reports and take appropriate action.
11. Enforcement
Depending on the nature and severity of a violation, Unet may issue a warning, restrict specific account features, suspend the account temporarily, or terminate the account permanently. Serious violations, including active spam campaigns, malware distribution, or a security threat, may result in immediate suspension without prior notice, as permitted under our Terms of Service.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to address new risks or abuse patterns. Material changes will be announced by email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
